We asked our church for real world hot topics that they wanted Biblical answers to, over the course of the next 4 weeks we will explore these questions and look at what the Bible has to say. This message was on God and Women and we looked at what Paul had to say on the topic of Women preaching in the church in 1 Timothy 2.

The subject of the text in Luke 17:26-37 is very difficult. It speaks about what the condition of the world will be like when God comes back to bring His final judgement, but because Jesus loves us so much He wants us to be ready for that day, He tells us the truth even when it is uncomfortable.

The cross of Jesus is often rejected or not liked. There are many people that will accept Jesus only when he speaks of love and fulfill their need of being loved, but do not accept Jesus as an authority over their lives.

In Luke 17:11-19, Luke tells the story of 10 lepers who were healed. Nine of the lepers went away and did not thank Jesus. Only one leper came back to thank Jesus. Jesus said to this leper, "Your faith has saved you." The leper goes back to gratitude. In this message Pastor Ken asks the question, why do we need to go back to gratitude? Life can be full of disappointments. We live in a false world, and this greatly affects our attitude towards gratitude. And we have to keep reminding ourselves to repent or go back to gratitude.

Jesus is using the parable in Luke 17:7-10 in the form of 3 questions to teach us about the importance of being unentitled. We should not expect to be praised or rewarded for doing what is right. We should simply do our duty, out of love for God and for others, because we have been chosen to serve.

We are all tempted to sin in many ways, and although it is not sinful to be tempted, sometimes those temptations can lead to sin. Sometimes others can be offended by our sin. In Luke 17 Jesus said that temptation was sure to come to all of us, in this message Pastor Ken looks at how Jesus wants us to look at temptation and those that offends us with their sin.

Many in our world today says no to hell. Many don’t even think that hell exists. We all struggle with this doctrine of hell. In this message, Pastor Ken discusses the words of Jesus about hell in Luke 16 with the parable about Lazarus and the rich man.

Marriage is hard and divorce can be devastating. We suffer a lot of unnecessary pain when we do not follow God's Design for our lives. In this message we delve into the topic of marriage and divorce from the often confusing and seemingly misplaced verse in Luke 16:18, seeking to understand God's original design and intent for this sacred union. We explore the biblical principles and teachings that guide us in navigating the complexities of marriage and divorce, highlighting God's desire for healthy, thriving relationships.

One thing that we learn from the scriptures is that God is immutable. God does not change. The new generation of young people have seen rapid change in things like the way we communicate and the family structure. 1 out of 5 of our teens, well before the legal age of consent, are already identifying themselves with various sexual identities. And many churches today have added to this confusion in an effort to appease society they have reconstructed the Bible. There are eternal and unchanging truths that guide us, that have been given to us by our creator. In this message we look at what Jesus says to us, words that are unchanging truths to any culture.

Just like Jesus got ridiculed by His audience after the parable in Luke 16, the church often gets ridiculed when we talk about money, like that is all the church cares about. But that is definitely true at Crosswinds! One of the reasons why people object to the church preaching about money is because there are some churches that preach a false gospel of prosperity. It is true that you can’t outgive God. If you give to Him, he will give to you much more in return, not necessarily more money, that is prosperity teaching, but rather more eternal blessings.
