This message is part of our Christmas series called: The True Light of Christmas, where we look at the message in John chapter 1. The message emphasizes that while grace comforts, truth challenges, and both are essential for spiritual growth and meaningful relationships. By confronting uncomfortable truths about ourselves and our lives, we open the door for God’s grace to transform and redeem us.

This is the first message in our Christmas series titled: The true Light of Christmas where we explore the message of John in Chapter 1. In this message, The Light of Creation, we explore John 1:1-4, where Jesus is revealed as the Logos—the eternal Word of God who created and sustains the universe.

This message emphasizes that Jesus Christ is the true light of the world — not a temporary or symbolic light, but a living, eternal light that continues to shine in the darkness.

The sermon proclaims that “the Word” in John 1 — the Logos — is not an impersonal force but the eternal, divine, personal agent through whom all creation came into being. It asserts that Jesus (the Logos) predates creation, sustains all life, and brings light and purpose to humanity.

We do not need to live in fear or with our anxieties. Cast them onto Jesus and he will take them from us. He will carry us into the light, for with His grace and mercy he shows us the path of everlasting love.

Shine your light onto others. When you believe in Christ and you follow His ways you have a strong inner light that radiates to the outside.

We need the Lord to help us to turn away from the darkness of our sin and selfishness. We need to turn to the Lord to find mercy, forgiveness, and grace. Let us turn to our Lord God and see His light and love. Let us be motivated to share that light to others.

Paul introduces Timothy and Epaphroditus in Philippians 2:19-30 as examples of ordinary people whose lives were shaped by the grace of Jesus into lives of genuine concern, faithful service, humility, and sacrifice. Rather than asking, "What can I get?" they lived by asking, "How can I serve Christ by serving others?" The message challenges us to allow God's grace to reshape our time, relationships, resources, gifts, and priorities so that our lives increasingly reflect Jesus.

Philippians 2:12–18 challenges believers to live out the salvation God has already given them—not to earn salvation, but as a response to God’s work within them. Paul teaches that because God is actively working in us, our lives should be marked by humble obedience, gratitude rather than grumbling, and a willingness to serve others even when nobody is watching.

In Philippians 2:1–11, Paul challenges believers to allow Christ to transform not only what they do, but how they think, especially in a culture that encourages self-promotion, comparison, status, and personal achievement.
