In today's message we will learn about one of the bibles greatest bad boys that repented and received God's Scandalous love and forgiveness.

The reason some cannot be a disciple is not because they are unworthy, it is because they are unwilling to pay the cost of Love. Jesus offers us free the gift of forgiveness but in our text in this message in Luke 14 Jesus makes it very clear that there is a cost to being his disciple. Jesus grace is free but it is not cheap.

God is Love but often in our culture we worship Love as God. The feeling of love can be a powerful idol that will lead us in sin. God loves you because He loves you understanding that truth can free you from the power of sin by the love he expressed in Jesus's sacrifice.

As we face a new year what is going to make this year extraordinary? Is it losing weight? Making more money? Having more friends? Jesus has a new command that if obeyed could make this and extraordinary year. It is to "Love one another." Obeying with command will revive our church, your relationship with God, bring rival to others in our community. While breathing makes one physically alive. Loving makes one spiritually alive.

In The Epistle of James 2:1–7, James teaches that authentic faith is revealed through authentic love — a love that refuses to show partiality or rank people based on wealth, appearance, status, or influence. The message warns believers against favoritism and reminds the church that every person is made in the image of God and equally valuable because of Christ’s sacrifice.

This message reminds us that God’s grace is often scandalous to us because He gives it freely to those we think are undeserving — including us. Like Jonah, we can become angry when God’s mercy doesn’t align with our sense of justice or comfort. God lovingly appoints both blessings and hardships to shape our hearts toward His mission: to show grace to a broken world.

As Jesus disciples we need to help people discover the treasure of God's promises found in His Gospel, in this message we look at what the Bible says about how we need to discover God and help others to discover Him too.
