We have been focusing in this chapter on the Kingdom Community. There are really two kingdom communities around us. The kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of the World. Which do you belong to? One operates on the basis of Grace. The other on the basis of Law. Which do your actions towards others show that you are a citizen of?

There are many images used to describe the church community in the Bible – a fellowship, a family, a body. But one of Jesus’ most common images for the church was a flock because of what it says about His heart and our calling. Do you have the same heart for the Good Shepherd that the Good Shepherd has for you?

Jesus want s you in His kingdom community. And His concern and care are that people in His kingdom not get wounded, hurt, or led into sin. In this message, Pastor John explores how obedience to the Word of God demonstrates our humility and dependence on Jesus.

Jesus' Kingdom is not of this world, so the priorities of the Kingdom will be different than what we are used to. In the passage we’re looking at today, Jesus tells a rich man to do what is seemingly impossible. But then we see that what is impossible for us, is only possible in Him. It is HIM possible.

In the parable of the Wedding Banquet, we learn that, right now, Jesus is preparing the party to end all parties. As we celebrate Christmas, we should be reminded of the great celebration that will take place for all of God’s people in heaven.

In an intense parable, Jesus illustrates the truth of our relationship with His Father, and what He has to say about it.

Around Christmas many get all sentimental about baby Jesus. We like baby Jesus because we can talk to Him - and He doesn’t talk back. He doesn’t tell us what to do or make us feel uncomfortable. But Jesus is the God-Man, and as grown-up Jesus He said and did things and some responded with belief and worship, and some responded with anger and accusations. What we’ll see in the text today is that it’s important for every one of us to change our minds about the authority of Jesus.

Jesus wants all people to know and worship His Father in Heaven. But there are many ways that people are robbed of that opportunity when the church does not operate according to God’s plan and design. And more importantly, God is robbed of the glory and honor due Him when we are uncareful and unfruitful. In this message, Pastor John describes four images of the church, and four ways we steal from God when we don’t operate as a church according to His plan.

Who is this? was a question asked about Jesus all through His life. He spoke with authority, forgave sins, and did mighty miracles – What manner of man is this? A genuine Church exists for the admiration of Jesus Christ! When the world sees a Church worshiping like that, they will begin to wonder and ask, “Who is this?

In a recent study, 70 million Americans said they feel “left behind” and are not living to their fullest potential. On top of that, many are dealing with unresolved emotional pain and experiences that have caused them to seriously question God. How should we respond? In our brief text today, we see that Jesus is a compassionate healer and will learn how to imitate Him as His disciples.
