When Paul wrote the letter of 1 Timothy, the church at Ephesus was 10 years-old and they were experiencing some growing pains. The solution was not to ignore the problem, but to have healthy leaders armed with a prescription to administer Godly teaching with a Godly example. In this message, Pastor John teaches from 1 Timothy that we are free in Christ to be godly in Christ.

The church is a body, and like bodies, churches can be healthy or sick. As we begin a series on the vital signs of a healthy church, Pastor John describes how the Holy Spirit works to bring life, power, obedience, and change.

Sometimes we are faced with the opportunity to speak for Jesus before strangers, people with problems and needs, people we don’t get along with, enemies, people that want to intimidate us, people of bad character. What do we do? Jesus came into that kind of environment and says, “This is why I have come – to testify to the truth."

The Christian faith is based on God’s unmerited grace shown to sinners. In this message, Pastor John explores the doctrines of saving grace, common grace, and preserving grace that are crucial for all believers to understand.

The conversion of Saul of Tarsus is one of the most well documented conversions in all of Scripture. On the Damascus Road, Saul was transformed from a persecutor of the church to a promoter of the gospel. In Saul’s conversion we see a demonstration of the patience and power of Jesus that is given as an example to each of us to encourage us in our faith and witness.

We have been focusing in this chapter on the Kingdom Community. There are really two kingdom communities around us. The kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of the World. Which do you belong to? One operates on the basis of Grace. The other on the basis of Law. Which do your actions towards others show that you are a citizen of?

What does it mean to be made for more? It does not mean you were made for more stuff, not more power, not more money not more possessions. You were not born primarily for these things. Pastor John Stillman takes a deeper look into Psalm 122 to answer the question what were we made for.

Jesus’ church has been blessed and built up by a long and wonderful practice of sharing words of encouragement, direction, and praise. In this message, Pastor John provides a message to the church on how to commend the good in others while praising the glory of God.

In this message, Pastor John looks at the story of a man who had been told lots of things that, before that moment, at least in his mind, kept him from making that kind of commitment. But then he hears of how Jesus came to remove the barriers that had kept him from a relationship with God.
