This message is a topical message on Baptism, it answers the question, Why Baptism? Biblically Baptism has 4 elements, 1. water, 2. In the name of the trinity, 3. By immersion and 4. After repentance and faith in Christ. We look to the Bible to see what this means for the believer.
This is the first part of our series You turn to Joy that looks deeper into the parables and teachings of Jesus in Luke 15. Luke speaks of 4 groups of lost people, the sinners, the tax collectors, the Pharisees and the scribes. Everyone might have thought that some of those groups like the Pharisees and the scribes are those near to God and some of the other groups may be far from God. But it was the sinners and the tax collectors that were drawing near to Jesus and listening to His message.
Due to some technical difficulties the first few minutes of the sermon's audio is not available, therefore this audio recording starts about 5 minutes into the sermon. We apologize for the inconvenience. We all want to have more joy in our lives! But joy is different from happiness because it often comes at the end of suffering or struggles. In this message on the parable of the Lost sheep in Luke 15:3 - 7, there is a struggle going on. The "sinners" are drawing near to hear Jesus and the religious in the crowd are grumbling. Jesus want to lead both groups of sinners to more joy. So He tells them a parable about the nature of God's love for us all as sinners.
Part of our You turn to joy series on the parables in Luke 15. This part of the series looks at the woman who lost one of her coins and reminds us that we are never forgotten by God.
