About Crosswinds

Crosswinds Church is a Christ-Centered community in Plainfield Illinois, located at the corner of Route 59 & 143rd Street. It is a place where you can discover who God is and live out your faith in uplifting and practical ways. We believe the Bible teaches that we don’t come to church but that we are the church, so we teach our members to have an impact on their families, workplaces, schools, community, and beyond. The church was started by ordinary people who God has used to do great things to show love and kindness in Plainfield, our county, our region, our state, and other countries..

Our goal is not just for you to come and visit us but for you to take what you learn about God at Crosswinds and share that with someone else to encourage them on their journey. God has a wonderful design for our lives, but life can be hard and we live in a broken world. We all need help and encouragement on our journey, so we seek to give people practical tools. These tools not only help them find peace and joy in their everyday lives, but help others to do the same. We are not perfect. The Bible says no one but Jesus is perfect, but we hope you will come and grow with us. We hope you will help us to make our lives and the lives of others better by discovering the hope that is found in Jesus Christ!

Meet the Family

The Song of the King
Psalm 118:1-22 | Sun, Mar 29, 2026 | Pastor Ken Schultz

This message explores Palm Sunday through Psalm 118, showing how Jesus entered Jerusalem not as a conquering political king, but as a sacrificial King bringing true peace.

The Song of Trust
Psalm 34:1-22 | Sun, Mar 22, 2026 | Pastor Ken Schultz

This message on Psalm 34 explores what it means to truly trust God, not just in moments of ease but in seasons of uncertainty, fear, and waiting. Trust is shown not only through belief but through surrender—choosing God’s way even when outcomes are unclear. A life of trust becomes a “song,” reflecting confidence in God’s character, faithfulness, and control.

The Song of Surrender
Psalm 31:1-24 | Sun, Mar 15, 2026 | Pastor Ken Schultz

The message explores the spiritual practice of surrender—trusting God even when circumstances are uncertain or painful. Psalm 31 demonstrates David’s willingness to place his life completely in God’s hands despite fear, enemies, and distress. True surrender is not passive resignation but an active trust that God is faithful and in control.

Song of Sorrow
Psalm 22:1-31 | Sun, Mar 08, 2026 | Pastor Ken Schultz

The message on Psalm 22, reflects on how sorrow, suffering, and lament are real parts of the human experience and the Christian life. Scripture shows that God meets people in their pain and uses suffering to shape endurance, character, and hope in Christ. Because Jesus entered human suffering and carried it to the cross, believers can bring their sorrow honestly to God and find hope and transformation through Him.

Song of Thanks
Sun, Mar 01, 2026 | Pastor Ken Schultz

This message, rooted in Psalm 118, explores why thankfulness should be the natural response of a believer—not just on special occasions, but every day of life. Ultimately, our song of thanks flows from remembering His deliverance, trusting His steadfast love, and fixing our hearts firmly on Jesus, the cornerstone.

All hands on deck Recap
Acts 19:1-10 | Sun, Feb 22, 2026 | Pastor Ken Schultz

This message recaps the final week of the All Hands on Deck series, using Acts 19 where Paul finds disciples in Ephesus, equips them with the fullness of the gospel, and builds a movement that spreads the Word throughout Asia in two years. It challenges believers to know the church’s mission and to live out their faith with intentional disciple-making, not just religious attendance.

Creative Communication
1 Corinthians 9:19-23 | Sun, Feb 15, 2026 | Nigel Symons

A healthy community
1 Corinthians 12:12-27 | Sun, Feb 01, 2026 | Jason Magafas

The message underscores the biblical truth that Christian community matters, because believers are designed to function together as one body in Christ, not in isolation.

A people committed to serve
1 Corinthians 12:4-11 | Sun, Jan 25, 2026 | Jason Magafas

This message challenges believers to live out Jesus’ call by serving others with the gifts, time, and circumstances God has given them, just as Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 12. True service is rooted in recognizing our unique roles and using what God has given us for the common good of the Church and the world.
