Operation Christmas Child

Dear Crosswinds Families,

Last year at Crosswinds the children in our Sunday
School program began sponsoring Bruno Garcia through Compassion International.  Bruno is an 8 year-old boy who lives in Columbia, and the
children have learned about his life, culture, and the grace of giving to
missions. I’m thankful for their giving hearts and thank you for continuing
to encourage them to remember Bruno through your family’s prayers.

We want to continue to teach your children about missions through the “Bruno Mission” and to expand their understanding through a new mission opportunity we are starting in 2010.  During the next year, we will be teaching the children
about "Operation Christmas Child", a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that provides
boys and girls in foreign countries with 1.5 million shoe boxes filled with toys,
hygiene items, school supplies, and personal notes of love at Christmastime.
As a church we have set a goal of providing 100 filled boxes by next November.

Katelynn Clark will be coordinating our OCC 2010 mission effort at Crosswinds.
Each month there will be a letter from Katelynn that will describe the mission in
more detail and fill you in on what’s next in our mission effort.

Talk to your children about how your family can use this wonderful opportunity
to show the love of Jesus.  Perhaps you will want to work on two or three boxes
as a family during the coming year.  Working together, I am sure that we can meet our goal, as well as pass on a valuable missions experience to your children.
